Yellowstone is a very busy national park, with over four million visitors each year. I recommend visiting it in the early spring when there is more wildlife than people. On this specific trip, we saw a bear and heard wolves howling into the night. A herd of bison surrounded our camp. We were some of the only hikers to explore that corner of the world that particular year because the week after our trip, the trails flooded, and mud washed the road away.
This photo is from one of the many hot springs we visited on that trip. I particularly like it because most Guizer photos are grand, but this one has a recluse feeling. The contrasting orange and looming forest gives me the feeling of wandering into quite literally a little corner of the world.
