Great Sand Dunes Footprints in the Sand

Years ago, I hiked the Great Sand Dunes National Park it was hot. Midday hikes are "not recommended" due to the uncomfortable heat. The sand absorbs and reflects the sun's intensity, creating a desolate landscape.
When we hiked, it seemed empty.
The area is a dark sky zone, so the night was beautiful.
I saw tiny mouse footprints scattered across the perfectly smooth sand in the morning. It looked like someone had poured cement and then asked the mouse to walk. The sand was so soft that it captured even the tiniest footprints of a mouse.
This photo is just my footprints.
